Job summary

Istaff Recruitment is seeking an experienced Tax Manager for an accounting firm in Sandton, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will hold a Tax qualification and have 10+ years in tax, with proven leadership of consultants and an administrator.

Primary duties include meeting SARS deadlines, liaising with SARS and firm partners, preparing tax calculations, IT3 certificates, IRP6 returns, and advising clients on tax matters.

Qualifications

• Qualification in tax (BCom Tax/HDip Tax) and SARS compliance knowledge.
• 10+ years of tax experience in a professional environment.
• Experience managing tax consultants/administrators and SARS deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage Tax Consultants and 1 Administrator
• Meet all SARS deadlines
• Deal with SARS and Partners of firm
• Compile tax calculations for all entities
• Issues IT3 certificates
• IRP6 provisional tax returns and manage tax audits
• Tax consultations and tax advice to clients as needed
• Review and finalize tax returns before SARS submission
• Oversee VAT and PAYE compliance
• Register and maintain statutory registrations

Minimum Requirements

1. Suitable Tax qualification (BCom Tax, HDip Tax etc.)
2. More than 10 years experience in a tax related position
3. Experience managing other tax consultants/administrators
4. Tax Practitioner
5. Advanced experience with eFiling
6. Proficient with Greatsoft, EasyFile and Excel
7. Knowledge of foreign tax / double tax treatments

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage Tax Consultants and 1 Administrator
• Meet all SARS deadlines
• Deal with SARS and Partners of firm
• Compile tax calculations for all entities
• Issues IT3 certificates
• EMP501 recons
• Tax consultations
• Tax advice to client where needed
• IRP6 provisional tax returnsManage tax audits
• Compile tax opinions
• VAT and PAYE audits
• Submit dividend tax, STT and customs applications
• Review tax returns before being submitted to SARS
• Deal with all statutory registrations
