Title: Tax Manager

Business Unit: Tax Management Services (Durban)

Reporting to: Directors

Purpose of the Job: To be proactive in all aspects of tax consulting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Good report writing and numerical skills.
  2. Management of the team, including delegation to and managing junior resources.
  3. Providing initial review support and guidance to junior staff.
  4. Service delivery to clients, including liaising directly with clients.
  5. Providing high-quality deliverables and identifying opportunities within existing clients.
  6. Tax accrual review and SARS compliance experience.
  7. Producing accurate work to a high technical standard.
Additional Duties:
  • Draft technically correct opinions and reports for review.
  • Interpret and apply theoretical knowledge to practical business solutions using a sound knowledge of income tax and corporate law.
  • Prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Gather information using effective research tools.
  • Assist with research and proposal preparation.
  • Identify problems in client guidance and suggest solutions.
  • Build credibility through effective communication.
  • Contribute to discussions and generate creative ideas.
  • Adapt to changing work environments and client demands.
  • Facilitate teamwork by sharing knowledge and asking questions.
  • Maintain general knowledge of all taxes (Income Tax, VAT, Employees Tax, International Tax).
  • Demonstrate drive and enthusiasm, technical ability, and knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Deliver quality work within tight timeframes.
