Job summary

EnableSA is seeking a Tax Compliance Officer to join our team in Port Elizabeth or East London. The role focuses on general tax administration, and the preparation and submission of individual and company tax returns.

You will handle SARS queries, conduct on-site visits, and support senior consultants with day‑to‑day case management. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in tax, strong SARS system knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a tax-related position in South Africa (SARS experience).
• Strong understanding of SARS systems (eFiling, e@syFile, etc)
• Working knowledge of Income Tax, Provisional Tax, and dispute processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Valid South African driver’s license and own transport (for SARS visits)

Responsibilities

• Handle general tax administration and processing tasks.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of individual and company income tax returns.
• Attend to SARS-related queries and correspondence.
• Conduct physical visits to SARS branches.
• Support senior tax consultants with day-to-day case management.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, documentation, and submissions.
• Liaise with clients to obtain tax information and provide status updates.
• Liaise with clients regarding engagement status with the company.
• Liaise with clients regarding outstanding debt and collection thereof.
