POSITION INFO : About the Company :

A global powerhouse in professional services is seeking an experienced Tax professional to take the reins of their international tax function. This role sits at the heart of strategic decision-making and tax innovation, reporting into the Johannesburg head office while offering full flexibility. You’ll lead and influence a multi-entity tax function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that thrives on transformation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Technical Tax Advisory : Draft comprehensive, technical tax opinions on complex cross-border matters including treaty interpretation, transfer pricing, and controlled foreign companies (CFCs).
  • International Tax Planning : Advise multinational clients on structuring, M&A tax planning, and BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) compliance.
  • Tax Dispute Resolution : Engage directly with SARS, prepare legal submissions, and represent clients in disputes.
  • Thought Leadership : Contribute to industry discussions, write technical articles, and deliver in-house training on global tax trends.
  • Client & Practice Development : Build strong client relationships, deliver strategic advice, and drive the growth of the international tax service line.

Minimum Requirements :

  • BCom or LLB (preferred) or (SA) accreditation
  • Postgraduate qualification in Taxation (essential)
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in tax, including 8+ years in audit / advisory
  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred
