A trusted accounting firm, based in Somerset-West, is looking to hire a Tax Administrator to join their team.
The Tax Administrator will play a key support role in managing accurate tax records, preparing and submitting returns to SARS in collaboration with the Tax Manager. This position also involves working closely with internal teams to ensure timely compliance with tax regulations and meeting critical deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and submitting Corporate Income Tax and Provisional Tax returns.
Support individual tax calculations and returns under the Tax Manager’s guidance.
Handle SARS submissions based on client-specific requirements.
Manage SARS correspondence, including queries, objections, and audit requests.
Provide administrative support during client audits and reviews for compliance.
Liaise with SARS to resolve issues and disputes, under the direction of the Tax Manager.
Contribute to process improvements for greater tax compliance efficiency.
Identify and escalate potential tax compliance risks.
Maintain an organized system to track tax reporting and submission deadlines.
Support the Tax Manager with admin tasks and update internal teams on tax deadlines.
Bachelor's Degree in Taxation or Accounting
1–2 years of experience in tax administration or a similar administrative support role, preferably within a finance or accounting environment.
A foundational understanding of tax regulations and some exposure to tax compliance processes would be beneficial.
