Job summary

A financial services company in Durbanville is seeking a proactive Tax Administrator to manage tax compliance and prepare various tax returns. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and at least 2 years’ experience in a tax practice. Overview

Our client is looking for a proactive Tax Administrator to bring expertise and precision to their finance team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit Individual, Corporate and Trust Income Tax Returns accurately and timeously
  • Complete Provisional Tax Returns bi-annually within statutory deadlines
  • Monitor and ensure tax compliance across all client portfolios
  • Liaise with SARS telephonically and via correspondence to resolve queries
  • Reconcile and complete additional returns, including Income Tax Audits, Dividends Withholding Tax (DWT) returns, and Donations Tax returns
  • Draft and submit Notices of Objection (NOO) and Notices of Appeal (NOA)
  • Prepare and manage tax audit responses as required
  • Arrange Tax Clearance Certificates, including Foreign Investment Certificates
  • Prepare and file Late Estate Tax Returns
  • Draft and submit applications for the waiver of interest and penalties
  • Prepare and lodge repayment arrangement applications with SARS
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, including timely invoicing of tax work
  • Provide tax input into Annual Financial Statements (AFS) prepared by accounting teams
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of in-house tax planning tools
Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Tax (progress toward a professional designation will be advantageous)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a tax practice and accounting environment
  • Ability to work independently while managing high-pressure deadlines
