Job Title: Tax Accountant (Tax Practitioner)

Location: Johannesburg

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and review tax computations.
2. Coordinate internally to ensure the timely filing of quarterly and annual tax returns for all clients.
3. Monitor the status of client tax compliance by reviewing tax reports and producing KPIs.
4. Assist with regular internal training sessions and tax updates.
5. Provide technical support on tax matters to client service units based on established procedures.
6. Assist in the preparation of tax technical papers and new tax procedures.
7. Review queries received for all clients and provide guidance to client service units.
8. Liaise with clients regarding SARS queries, review and amend replies, and supporting documents.
9. Engage with SARS regarding client tax matters and attend meetings with SARS officers on behalf of clients.
10. Assist in drafting and submitting applications for tax rulings.
11. Conduct research on domestic and international tax issues.
12. Review changes in tax laws, analyze implications, and coordinate implementation.
13. Perform any other duties as communicated by your manager and directors.

Skills Required:

• Recently qualified CA (SA) or a candidate with SAICA articles with audit training experience, or a SAIPA candidate interested in international tax and research.
• Registered Tax Practitioner.
• Exposure to taxation during articles training.
• Attention to detail with a strong control mindset.
• Organized and meticulous.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Proactive with the ability to work autonomously.
• Problem-solving skills and pragmatic approach to technical or operational issues.
• Strong communication skills.
