Were working on behalf of a highly respected multidisciplinary consulting firm that specializes in geotechnical environmental and civil engineering projects across the mining sector. Our client is seeking a Tailings Engineer to join their growing team and play a critical role in delivering innovative and responsible tailings and mine waste solutions to clients across the globe.

Duties & Responsibilities

About the Role :

As a Tailings Engineer youll be involved in the full lifecycle of tailings management from concept design and feasibility studies to detailed engineering construction support and closure planning. Youll work closely with a team of skilled engineers and scientists while also interacting directly with clients on complex highimpact projects.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and analysis of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and mine waste management systems
  • Perform geotechnical and hydrological assessments
  • Prepare technical reports design drawings and specifications
  • Conduct site investigations inspections and audits
  • Liaise with clients to develop tailored practical solutions
  • Support permitting and regulatory compliance processes
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledgesharing

About You :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Geotechnical or Mining Engineering (or related field)
  • 5 years of experience in tailings engineering ideally within a consulting or mining environment
  • Strong understanding of TSF design dam safety and regulatory frameworks
  • Skilled in geotechnical software (e.g. GeoStudio Slide FLAC PLAXIS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel for site visits as required
