Job summary

Transnet invites applications for the TRIM Head Office Tactical Procurement leadership role. You will drive spend management across designated portfolios, implement tactical sourcing strategies, and deliver cost reductions while maintaining quality and service levels.

Reporting to the General Manager: Supply Chain, you will lead demand forecasting, contract management, supplier development and risk mitigation, fostering innovation and ensuring compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Honours degree (Master’s preferred) in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Legal, Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within supply chain management.
• Total 12 years in supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Lead Tactical Procurement strategies and processes to deliver commercial outcomes for Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager.
• Facilitate demand management and forecasting to ensure security of supply.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying efficient business solutions to improve processes.
• Identify bottlenecks in tactical procurement and plan risk mitigation.
• Conduct training on internal policies, regulations and laws affecting tactical procurement and monitor compliance.
• Participate in innovation and research of emerging trends in tactical commodities to inform process re-engineering.
• Support senior sourcing managers in developing sourcing strategies and interact with senior leaders.
• Manage service delivery for tactical procurement and ensure timely delivery of services.
• Ensure standardisation of procurement projects and develop supplier relations and KPI agreements.
