Job description

TDS Projects Group is a leader in mining construction and project management, committed to operational excellence, safety, and innovation.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Time & Attendance (T&A) Clerk to join our dynamic site team.

Role Overview :

The T&A Clerk will be responsible for the accurate management of all time and attendance processes on a busy construction site, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.

The successful candidate will oversee daily clockings and attendance, utilizing ERS Biometrics and related systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor daily time and attendance records for all site personnel, ensuring accuracy and completeness (more than 1 clocking per day).
  • Process and reconcile clocking data, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit attendance reports to site management and payroll departments.
  • Maintain and update employee records in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with supervisors and HR regarding attendance issues, absences, and overtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labour legislation (BCEA, LRA) and site-specific policies.
  • Provide support during audits and assist with the implementation of process improvements.
  • Train new staff on T&A procedures and ERS Biometrics usage as required.

Job Nature: Full Time, On-site

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in time and attendance administration on a construction or mining site.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume clockings (+ per day) with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERS Biometrics systems will be highly advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with T&A or HRIS platforms.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Matric certificate required; relevant tertiary qualification will be an advantage.
