Job description

Job Title: SAP Project Systems Analyst

Manage and improve the overall effectiveness of the SAP module through continuous improvement and new development initiatives.

Provide functional leadership, support, and guidance to both business and IT teams by driving change, transferring knowledge, and growing skills.

Position Outputs
  • Provide functional support to business end users.
  • Understand client requirements, provide solutions, and configure the system accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain system configuration, training, and support documentation.
  • Create business and technical specifications for new developments.
  • Assess and advise on solutions and alternatives based on business experience and knowledge.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with partners, IT/Business Analysts, and other teams.
  • Lead project deliverables from concept to implementation, collaborating with business and team members.
  • Develop high-value solutions aligned with industry standards, best practices, and governance procedures.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Plan and execute SAP Project Systems implementation and development activities.
  • Research, develop, and implement strategies for quality improvement and system use.
  • Prioritize and plan long-term project initiatives in line with business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with development methodologies and tools.
  • Research industry-specific solutions for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Prepare business cases and requirements specifications.
  • Assist in planning the technical roadmap, testing, and implementing product enhancements.
  • Manage incident and change processes, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Provide second-line SAP Project Systems support.
  • Perform system testing.
  • Support other modules such as FICO, MM, PM where applicable.
  • Record incidents and manage calls effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant qualification or National Diploma (NQF 6/7) in Technical/IT/Computer Science or a bachelor's degree.
  • At least 5 years of SAP application support experience.
  • Preferably 1 year of supervisory or specialist experience.
  • Relevant SAP certification.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP integration areas and cross-functional skills.
  • Advantageous: Experience with Transnet Leadership Development Programme.
