Datonomy Solutions in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to join our team. You will work on requirements, specifications, and the design of technical solutions for modernising systems transitioning from mainframe to open systems.

You will analyse functional and non-functional requirements, contribute to architecture artefacts, and collaborate with architects to map integrations, UI prototypes, and risk plans. The role is based in Cape Town with opportunities for growth and impact.

Formación

• IT qualification with emphasis on technical competencies in legacy and modern apps.
• 7–10 years of experience in systems analysis and design.
• Experience with cloud implementations is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

Senior Systems Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to join our team in Cape Town.

Core Tasks:

1. Understanding of Requirement specifications
2. Assistance with Functional specifications as required
3. Development of technical specifications for product and process requirements, including integration mapping.
4. Logical system design (Independent of Technology) - Use Case Realisation Documentation & Logical Data Model
5. Analyse Non-Functional Requirements
6. Input into Quality Management Plan
7. Assist with quality reviews
8. Assist with design process
9. Input for various UI prototypes, end user and reports
10. Assist with draft of iteration plan – scoping and estimation
11. Risk Management Plan – identification of potential risks/issues and give input to risk mitigation plan

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Relevant IT qualification with emphasis on technical competencies in both legacy and modern applications, for a modernisation related projects moving from Mainframe to Open Systems.
2. Minimum 7-10 years relevant experience in system analysis and design
3. At least 10 years IT experience
4. Experience in life assurance or broader financial services industry will be an advantage
5. Previous experience with Cloud implementations will be an advantage

Knowledge:

1. Sound understanding of legacy mainframe technology framework and code (e.g. ASM; COBOL)
2. Sound understanding of a modern technology landscape (e.g. Agile, REST/JASON, Web Services SOAP/XML)
3. Sound understanding of the Software Development process (SDLC) and methodology in the IT Organisation
4. Thorough understanding of design principles; design patterns
5. Knowledge of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) will be beneficial
6. A self-starter with the ability to work in an Enterprise context (i.e. across multiple Projects)
7. Ability to work with Enterprise and Solution Architects to expand on conceptual views and understanding
8. Understanding and interpretation of Conceptual and Logical Architecture artefacts
9. Ability to Analyse current systems and future design options
