Job Description

As the Systems Administrator for the Windows Team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows-based systems within our organisation.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives, drive innovation, and maintain the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Innovation: Guiding the execution of Windows system architecture, design, and implementation strategies. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to Windows systems administration and infrastructure management.
  2. System Design and Implementation: Implementation of Windows-based systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance to meet business requirements as per design. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and architect solutions that align with organisational goals and standards. Drive the adoption of automation, scripting, and configuration management tools to streamline system deployment, configuration, and maintenance processes.
  3. System Administration and Maintenance: Oversee the day-to-day administration and maintenance of Windows servers, services, and infrastructure components, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and Azure IAAS. Implement and enforce security best practices, policies, and controls to protect Windows-based systems from vulnerabilities, threats, and unauthorised access. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to optimise performance, availability, and reliability.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security analysts, developers, and business stakeholders, to support project initiatives and deliver integrated solutions. Communicate technical concepts and recommendations clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering understanding and alignment.
Qualifications:
  1. Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  2. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing Windows-based systems in enterprise environments.
  3. Strong expertise in Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related technologies.
  4. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation and configuration management.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  6. Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
Additional Information:

Enthusiastic in dealing with people in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment is essential. Must be willing to travel locally when required and have a valid driver's license.
