About the role

Unifi Africa seeks a technically skilled and detail-oriented Systems Analyst to design and validate system-level solutions supporting our microlending operations across South Africa, Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya.

This role involves collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable system architectures and technical specifications.

You will define system operations, API workflows, configuration structures, and ensure delivery of reliable, high-performing, integrated technology solutions.

This position suits someone who enjoys systems architecture, data flows, APIs, and functional design, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to understand business needs and develop technical solutions.
  2. Design and document system processes, data flows, component interactions, and integrations.
  3. Create functional specifications detailing API contracts, workflows, and configurations.
  4. Assess impacts of system changes, identify risks, and plan integration adjustments.
  5. Participate in solution validation to ensure functionality aligns with requirements.
  6. Support development and QA teams during implementation and testing.
  7. Maintain knowledge of Unifi's platform architecture, core lending systems, and external integrations.
  8. Apply platform standards and governance practices consistently.
  9. Improve system documentation, modeling techniques, and decision frameworks.
  10. Assist in issue resolution by analyzing logs, queries, and interactions.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in systems analysis, design, or solution architecture, preferably in fintech or financial services.
  • Expertise in system modeling, translating requirements, and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, web services, integrations, and enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.
  • Experience with collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Miro, Postman.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies, with cross-functional team experience.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with lending platforms or financial integrations is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, structured approach.
  • Interest in leveraging technology for financial inclusion in Africa.
