The ideal candidate will be responsible for documenting, analyzing system functional requirements, and translating functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and document system technical requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Develop and maintain system flows and technical documentation.
- Identify potential solutions and assess their technical feasibility and business suitability.
- Work closely with developers, testers, and business analysts to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
- Assist in developing business and technical models for end-to-end processes.
- Gather and analyze technical requirements, ensuring all scenarios are covered.
- Formulate analysis documentation, functional specifications, interface specifications, and prototypes according to industry standards.
- Analyze system interfaces and create corresponding interface specifications.
- Support the business in implementing effective and efficient solutions.
- Define application problems by consulting with clients and evaluating procedures and processes.
- Implement, configure, and test solutions; evaluate alternative workflows.
- Analyze, model, and interpret data using various tools and techniques.
- Engage with clients to understand the 'why' of business requests and challenge their thinking to develop alternative proposals.
- Ensure solution architecture aligns with business and functional requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a System Analyst.
- Knowledge of documenting technical specifications, SQL, and coding languages such as C#, .Net.
- NQF Level 5 qualification: a 3-year National Diploma, BSc in Computer Science, or BCom in Information Systems.
- Advanced UML or BPMN course is advantageous.
- Business Analyst certification or advanced qualification is advantageous.
- Minimum of 4 years in technical systems analysis and integration.
- Experience in data analysis and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with API integration and understanding of end-to-end processes within the insurance sector is highly advantageous.
Skills and Personal Attributes
- Strong technical writing and system documentation skills.
- Deep understanding of system analysis, design, and documentation techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team, handle multiple tasks, adapt quickly, and work under pressure.
- Experience with data modeling, use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, and ER diagrams.
- Proficiency in defining user stories and process mapping.
- Knowledge of JIRA and Agile principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and resolve problems swiftly.
