Job description

Applications are invited for an energetic Swimming Coach who meets the below listed prerequisites, to join the CBC Boksburg Aquatics Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

● Coordinating the aquatics programme in consultation with the MIC of Swimming in both Primary School and High School;

● Supervising PE lessons and ensuring a safe environment for all students;

● Training and coaching both Primary School and High School swimming team as well teaching / coordinating the Learn to Swim program;

● Evaluating the performance of students throughout the year and ensuring the correct swimmers are selected for the team;

● Managing sports equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

● Learn to Swim qualification;

● Level 1 Coaching certified;

● Registered with Swim South Africa;

● First Aid and CPR qualifications;

● Proven experience in managing / administrating aquatics in a school environment;

● Willingness to participate fully in the school’s broader extramural sport program, where necessary, outside of aquatics;

● Effective verbal and written communication skills;

● A passion for sport, children and the development of both;

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook; and

● Possession of a valid driver’s licence code EB.

Any of the following will be advantageous:

● An Education degree;

● SACE registration;

● A relevant qualification in Sport Management / Administration;

● Current studies in teaching or teaching degree;

● A Professional Drivers Permit (PDP).
