Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of farm management experience with a focus on sustainability.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of sustainable agriculture, soil science, crop rotation and IPM.
• Proven budget management and financial planning experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on-site in the Durban region.
• Proficiency in agricultural management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily farm operations, including crop production, livestock management (if applicable), and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for sustainable agricultural practices.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability of operations.
• Lead, train, and motivate farm staff, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
• Monitor crop health, soil conditions, and environmental impact, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
• Research and integrate new technologies and innovative farming methods to improve sustainability and productivity.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, distributors, and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee the maintenance of farm equipment and infrastructure.
• Collect and analyze performance data to drive continuous improvement.
