Surveillance Technician job vacancyin Blackheath.

Key Performance Areas:

• Install, configure, and commission CCTV surveillance systems (IP-based and hybrid).
• Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on surveillance and access control equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults on CCTV, NVRs, servers, and networking components.
• Run cable routes, terminate network cables (Cat5e/Cat6), and integrate with existing infrastructure.
• Conduct system testing, field-of-view verification, and analytics configuration (intrusion detection, line crossing, LPR, etc.).
• Complete job cards, service reports, and client documentation accurately and on time.
• Provide client training and system handovers.
• Adhere to company policies, health and safety guidelines, and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
• Relevant Technical Certification (e.g., CCTV Installation, Networking, Electronics)
• Minimum 3 years experience in surveillance installations and maintenance
• IP cameras and NVRs (Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, etc.)
• Surveillance software platforms (iVMS, SmartPSS, DSS, etc.)
• Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, PoE, switches)
• Valid South African Drivers License (Code B or higher)
• Physically fit and able to work at heights and on ladders
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
