Job Description

Are you a motivated and customer-focused individual ready to make a real impact? We are looking for a passionate Customer Service Intern to join our team at our Johannesburg Offices. In this role, you will develop key customer service skills, engage with customers, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.

What will the programme look like?

As a Customer Service Intern, you will be the first contact point for prospects, providing an independent, professional, and informative experience. Your goal is to identify customer needs, match them with the most suitable Sage product, and generate high-quality leads for the Sales team. You will play a key role in business growth by ensuring an effective lead qualification process.

Additionally, we support community engagement, offering five fully paid days per year for volunteering or charitable activities through our CSR initiatives.

This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Midrand office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a customer-first approach to identify needs, with a phone-first engagement strategy.
  • Monitor, distribute, and control inbound leads from various sources.
  • Qualify leads before passing them to Sales.
  • Allocate and distribute qualified leads to the Sales teams for Sage Africa & Middle East.
  • Ensure impartial and accurate allocation of leads.
  • Maintain accurate records on Salesforce and other CRM systems.
  • Utilize available tools to support lead qualification.
  • Maintain and exceed lead conversion rates while ensuring quality.
  • Address sales team queries as required.
  • Develop positive internal relationships.
What will make me successful?
  • Grade 12 matric certificate (accounting pass required).
  • A commerce qualification is an advantage.
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office.
