Job Title: Supply Planning Manager
Job Overview
The Supply Planning Manager ensures that activities from the Demand Planning process support demand fulfillment through the Supply Planning process, which includes manufacturing requirements related to planned maintenance, capital projects, and R&D. This role also oversees the Materials function, including planning and warehousing, to ensure effective execution.
Levels of Authority
Controls an operational budget of approximately R9M with an indirect impact on R100M for L&B and R300M for Materials, supporting a production of about 30M kg.

Key Performance Areas and Indicators
A. Planning Management
- Manage Scheduling and Material Supply teams for optimal performance.
- Prepare and communicate production schedules, procurement plans, and material supply strategies.
- Review and adjust plans with Supply Chain management.
- Monitor performance and implement improvements.
- Align inventory and promotion changes with market needs, minimizing waste.
- Plan stock-builds to support market activities.
B. Operational Management
- Hold regular meetings with Demand Planning & Customer Service Managers.
- Develop personnel capabilities.
- Coordinate projects impacting production, such as new product launches or equipment upgrades.
- Participate in IBP leadership team.
- Ensure plans consider plant needs and keep managers informed.
- Promote schedule adherence and cyclicity to improve performance.
- Ensure quality in scheduling and material supply activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in department practices.
- Optimize batch cycle planning for productivity and cost efficiency.
C. Health and Safety
- Ensure GMP, food safety (HACCP), and sanitation standards are met.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and address safety concerns proactively.
- Adhere to Kellogg’s environmental management system.
D. People Management
- Manage performance processes effectively.
- Assess manpower needs and develop succession plans.
- Plan and implement training and development.
- Maintain an effective organizational structure.
- Manage plant staff training programs.
Dimensions, Education & Experience
Recognized professional qualification in Planning/Scheduling with at least 5 years experience in FMCG production planning, including 2 years in a management role.
Skills and Knowledge
