JOB OVERVIEW
The Supply Planning Manager ensures that activities from the Demand Planning process enable demand fulfillment through the Supply Planning process, considering manufacturing requirements related to planned maintenance, capital projects, and research and development. This role is also responsible for the effective execution of Materials functions, including materials planning and warehousing.

LEVELS OF AUTHORITY
Levels of authority include signatory and authorization powers in financial, people, business process, and other matters. The role controls an operational budget of approximately R9 million and impacts the management of raw materials and production of about 30 million kg.

RELATIONSHIPS
This position maintains internal relationships with Supply Chain and Sales teams, and external relationships with suppliers and 4PL partners.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND INDICATORS
Main activities include managing scheduling and materials supply teams, preparing production schedules, and monitoring performance. The role involves planning stock builds, coordinating with demand planning and customer service, developing personnel, and participating in projects affecting production plans. It also requires ensuring quality, driving continuous improvement, and managing health and safety standards.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Effective management of performance processes, manpower planning, training, and development are essential. The role develops operational organization and manages staff training.

DIMENSIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Requires a recognized professional qualification in Planning/Scheduling, with at least 5 years of production planning experience in FMCG, including 2 years in a management role.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
The ability to focus on results, manage work, plan and organize, and build partnerships is crucial. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, along with operational knowledge of policies, procedures, MS Excel, SAP, and planning and resourcing.
