Job Summary :

We believe that how we reach our customers is as important as the products we sell. The required position will be responsible for planning the supply of products in South Africa to ensure optimal fill rate and customer satisfaction. Working within the end-to-end planning team and collaborating closely with the South Africa customer excellence, sales, marketing, and other cross-functional teams, the South Africa Supply Planner will drive planning operations to meet business needs, ensuring high customer service while optimizing inventory holdings.

Main Responsibilities / Tasks :
  • Make monthly purchase forecasts for imported products and coordinate with factory planners on availability and potential supply constraints.
  • Place firm intercompany orders for local warehouse replenishment and follow up until shipment.
  • Optimize inbound container orders to minimize freight costs.
  • Manage local inventory levels, balancing service levels with optimal stock holdings.
  • Monitor overstock and slow-moving items; collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop depletion strategies.
  • Work with Marketing to ensure timely availability of new products.
  • Participate in the local IBP process.
  • Contribute to weekly production planning.
  • Ensure accurate inbound stock system integration and investigate discrepancies.
Key Performance Indicators :
  • Intercompany order accuracy (MAPE at various lags)
  • Fill rate service level (value and volume)
  • Inventory holdings (value and as a percentage of sales)
  • Slow movers and overstock levels
  • Timeliness of new product launches
  • On-time customs clearance and reception
Typical Day :
  • Supply Planning: Place and follow up on intercompany orders, optimize container loads, and coordinate inbound logistics.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, address slow movers and overstock, and plan inventory targets.
  • Product Data Management: Maintain accurate product data in planning systems, including product status updates.
Qualifications & Skills :
  • University degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, ideally in FMCG or related industries.
  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
  • ERP system knowledge.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Process-oriented with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage complex customer needs.
  • Culturally aware and open-minded.
  • Solution-driven with innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
