Placements24 is partnering with a major FMCG employer in Mossel Bay, Western Cape to recruit a strategic Supply Chain Project Manager. You will lead logistics and distribution optimization initiatives, drive efficiency, reduce costs and improve responsiveness across networks.

The role requires 5+ years in supply chain or logistics with at least 3 years in project management, plus strong analytical and stakeholder management skills. A hybrid work model is offered in a coastal setting.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the FMCG sector, is seeking a strategic Supply Chain Project Manager to lead initiatives focused on optimizing their logistics and distribution networks. This role is vital for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the overall responsiveness of the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, and project management, with a proven ability to implement impactful changes in a complex operational environment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and completion of supply chain and logistics projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.
• Analyze existing supply chain processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend innovative solutions for optimization.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, warehousing, transportation) and external partners to implement process improvements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with logistics providers, ensuring performance meets service level agreements (SLAs).
• Implement new technologies and systems to support supply chain operations and data visibility.
• Track project progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Communicate project updates and outcomes to key stakeholders, including senior management.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations, with at least 3 years in a project management capacity.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects focused on logistics optimization, warehouse management, or transportation efficiency.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and distribution strategies.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, MS Project) and supply chain analytics tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; APICS or PMP certification is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and on-site collaboration.
• Experience with ERP systems and WMS is highly desirable.
