Introduction

A growing and innovative company within the renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) sector is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to take responsibility for procurement, supplier management, logistics and the overall supply chain function.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the end-to-end supply chain, from sourcing and procurement through to delivery.
• Source and procure electrical, electronic and technical components used in renewable energy and BESS solutions.
• Identify, evaluate and develop local and international suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms and supply agreements with suppliers.
• Ensure the availability of critical components and materials to support production and project requirements.
• Manage supplier performance, quality, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor stock levels and implement effective inventory management processes.
• Work closely with engineering, production, projects and finance teams to align procurement with business requirements.
• Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate procurement documentation.
• Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor market trends, pricing and availability of electrical and electronic components.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery requirements.
• Oversee logistics and inbound transportation of components and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant industry requirements.
• Provide regular supply chain and procurement reports to management.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Management, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management, procurement or strategic sourcing.
• Proven experience within the renewable energy, solar, energy storage or BESS sector is highly advantageous.
• Strong experience sourcing and procuring electrical and electronic components.
• Experience dealing with local and international suppliers.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
• Excellent understanding of procurement, inventory and logistics processes.
• Strong Excel and ERP/MRP system experience.

Package & Remuneration

R500 000 CtC to R950 000 CTC per annum based on qualifications and years of experience
