Job summary

Givaudan in Johannesburg seeks a Supply Chain Manager to oversee demand and supply planning, inventory, and project work. You will lead regional strategy and coordinate warehouse operations, with responsibility for cost control and safety.

Reporting to Head of Operations, you will shape regional plans and drive performance across multiple functions. The candidate will manage a team, drive process improvements, and travel as needed to support initiatives, bringing a strong background in SAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
• MBA or Master's Degree preferred in a technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing with a supply chain background.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Experience with core operations and supply chain processes; APICS CPIM knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of Givaudan SAP planning solutions.
• Comfort with change, numbers, processes and people.
• Willingness to travel to support projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide supply chain inputs to Operations business plans and help design regional strategy.
• Oversee regional supply chain strategy, tactical and operational plans.
• Lead the execution of local demand and supply planning and inventory management.

Supply Chain Manager - Your future role?

As a Supply Chain Manager in Johannesburg, you will provide Supply Chain oversight for Flavours Operations in a medium to small site. Your responsibilities will include leading demand and supply planning, customer service, and project management activities. These activities aim to secure manufacturing and supply of products to customers from existing facilities, while meeting required product quality standards and production costs.

You will report to the Head of Operations.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Provide important supply chain inputs to the Operations business plans. Help design the regional Supply Chain strategy and definition of related goals, based on input provided by other regional functions, e.g. Commercial or Business Development.
• Adapt and implement the regional supply chain strategy, and oversee the design and execution of related tactical and operational plans to meet regional and local Operations goals.

Function management

• Build the developed strategies aligned with our needs to reach and maintain the Measurements of each area under SCM following the best practices at the most cost-effective process.
• Collaborate with all partners following our strategy, targets and leadership principles.
• Oversee the smooth execution of local demand and supply planning and inventory management, ensuring material availability while maintaining cost control and following best practices.
• Collaborate in the Supply and Demand review of the S&OP cycle.
• Place an active role in the development of the supply chain network.
• Organize reliable, efficient and safe warehouse and shipping operations with focus on execution (service), quality (customer and internal requirements) and cost (efficiency).
• Ensure that the site complies to trade affairs regulations on import and export.
• Select and manage in collaboration with customs brokers.
• Coordinate transportation along with regional transportation department.
• Implement opportunities for Improvement.
• Act regarding behavioural safety and keep expectations high for safety targets.
• Support EHS projects and facilitate their implementation.
• Build the annual operating plan within approved budget.

People management

• Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes within the local Supply Chain and Planning team(s) and validate related results.
• Work with the local Operations and regional Supply Chain management, and HR Business Partner(s), in recruiting and developing a local talent pipeline.
• Promote local Supply Chain & Planning talents within and outside Operations at local and regional level.

You Have

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Logistics
• We prefer an MBA or Master's Degree in a Technical field.
• 7+ years of experience manufacturing operations with a background in supply chain
• Plan, quality or materials management, including exposure to organizational change, operational restructuring, business process redesign, systems implementations, enterprise risk for complex organizations.
• 2+ years of experience in people management
• Experience with the main processes in operations and supply chain and main metrics to measure the performance (APICS CPIM)
• Excellent knowledge of Givaudan Planning solutions in SAP and beyond.
• Comfort in dealing with change, numbers, processes and personalities.
• Comfort in travelling to support projects.
