Job summary

Givaudan seeks a Site Engineering Manager for Taste & Wellbeing in Johannesburg, overseeing plant engineering services to ensure safe, reliable operations at Tulisa site.

You will lead maintenance, facilities, and capital projects, driving continuous improvement, reliability, and cost efficiency in a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • GCC certification for factories or manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing and Plant Engineering.
  • 5+ years of leadership and project management experience.
  • Strong experience in CAPEX governance.
  • Solid knowledge of maintenance best practices, including preventive, predictive, and reliability‑focused maintenance.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Good knowledge of EHS rules, engineering compliance, and statutory requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exposure to cross‑functional teams and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance leadership: lead mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance to ensure safe and efficient equipment performance.
  • Maintenance systems: implement procedures, equipment improvements, predictive maintenance, and spare‑parts management to strengthen reliability.
  • Compliance management: ensure full compliance with EHS rules, building codes, and engineering standards.
  • Facilities management: direct all facilities services to support Operations effectively.
  • Capital projects: oversee engineering projects from needs assessment and cost justification to credit requests, planning and execution.
  • Project execution: deliver projects that improve cost, efficiency, yield, and quality across the manufacturing environment.
  • Vendor management: manage third‑party service contracts, define requirements, qualify vendors, and monitor performance.
  • Team leadership: lead multi‑skilled engineering and maintenance teams, building a results‑oriented and service‑driven culture.
  • Budget ownership: manage multi‑million‑dollar projects, operating expenses, and capital budgets.
  • Maintenance programs: strengthen work‑order systems and preventive maintenance programs to ensure long‑term asset reliability.

A Site Engineering Manager supporting our Taste & Wellbeing South Africa Plant Operations team in Johannesburg – Your future position?

Our Tulisa site is a key manufacturing location for Taste & Wellbeing ingredients.

We are now hiring a Site Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Site Director, and leading all plant engineering services to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for –
Achieve Operational Efficiency
