SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Diploma, B-Tech, or B.Com in Supply Chain & Logistic Management.
- Minimum 5-10 years post qualification experience
- Proven experience in the development, evaluation, and implementation of logistic principles in the supply chain environment.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office and intermediate knowledge and experience of MS Excel.
- Conversant with customs tariff codes & customs procedures for South Africa (SA) & Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
- Fully conversant with SAP Unity.
KEY TASKS AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Imports & Exports
- Ensure JCDecaux SSA adheres to Customs & Excise Act 91 of 1964
- Maintain import & export customs documentation in terms of Customs & Excise Act 91 of 1964 and any amendments thereto.
- Determine and verify harmonized tariff classifications (T/C) and valuation for all imports & exports.
- Check & maintain SADC protocols & all other preferential trade agreements that would benefit all BUs in SA & SSA
- Ensure the Open Marine policy for JCDecaux SSA adequately covers all movement of goods regardless of transport mode for all BUs under the negotiated umbrella for Open Marine cover, with the exception of Nigeria.
- Negotiate transportation rates & services for all imports & exports.
- Determine the most efficient & cost-effective modes of transport & their routing for both imports & exports.
- Provide DDP costing to Project Team for all Capex shipments to SSA BU’s
- Arrange pre-shipment inspections with Bureau Veritas when required.
- Generate export documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, SADC, SI, etc.) & ensure that the BU’s have the correct import documentation necessary prior to shipment.
- Provide export documentation to SA & BU Freight Forwarders & the importing BU.
- Check pre-alert documents prior to cargo departure.
- Assist BU’s check their customs declarations/customs worksheets where necessary.
- Ensure BU’s pay duties & clearance charges prior to cargo arriving at destination.
- Track shipments, both import & export shipments until destination & providing updates to the people concerned (BU’s, Projects)
- Resolve all logistics & customs challenges for both imports & exports for BU’s in SSA
- Raise customer invoices (BU’s) in SAP Unity for all exports.
- Complete & lodge the Open Marine monthly declarations & any claims that may be necessary.
- Reconcile Import Vat Account for Eswatini
- Provide customs documentation to Finance for VAT audits.
- Provide a report for finances of all imports & exports for SSA.
- Assist in reconciling inward payments from BU’s.
- Raise all POs in SAP Unity for all export & import charges and insurance premiums & submit to finance for payment.
Domestic Logistics:
- Provide national transport quotes to the Projects Team when required.
- Create waybills & arrange collection with couriers for all prints & maintenance materials to subcontractors nationally.
- Provide daily updates to production, flighting, and subcontractors for all national shipments.
- Reconcile all Waybills to Courier Invoices
- Raise POs for all courier charges & submit to finance for payment.
Supply Chain:
- Assist the Digital Team on EDOS—raise tickets for all repairs & returns of digital repairs.
- Obtain quotes for SSA BU's and raise POs in SAP Unity for materials required in the country.
- Provide stock status reports from SAP Unity for national branches for their inventory.
- Create Materials for SA Stores in SAP Unity
- Manage & process the annual stocktake in SAP Unity for SA Stores
- Obtain quotes & book flights for Projects & H&S.
- Processing credit applications for new transporters & suppliers

- SAP Unity—SA
- Esker—12 SSA Countries
SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
- Must have a complete understanding of Incoterms 2024.
- Must have a complete understanding of Open Marine Insurance.
- Must be able to cost shipments to Incoterm DDP (Delivered Duty Paid).
- Must understand preferential trade agreements that benefit SA & SSA.
- Must be computer literate.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational & interpersonal skills.
