Job Title: Supply Chain Financial Manager

The Supply Chain Financial Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of a company's supply chain operations. This role involves working closely with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and inventory management to ensure financial efficiency, cost optimization, and accurate financial reporting.

Job Purpose:

The Supply Chain Financial Manager is responsible for ensuring financial accountability and profitability within the supply chain. This role involves analysing and managing costs, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and implementing financial controls to support efficient supply chain operations. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis:
Develop and manage supply chain budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Monitor and analyse financial performance of the supply chain and identify trends, cost drivers, and areas for improvement.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate potential supply chain investments and decisions.

Cost Optimization:
Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to drive cost-saving initiatives and optimize operational costs across the supply chain.
Identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions in procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare and present regular financial reports, including variance analysis, to senior management.
Ensure financial data accuracy and adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations for financial decision-making.

Inventory Management & Cash Flow:

Work closely with inventory management teams to monitor and control inventory costs.
Ensure inventory levels are optimized to avoid overstocking or stockouts while maintaining cost efficiency.
Support cash flow management by analysing working capital requirements.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with various departments to develop financial strategies that align with supply chain goals.
Act as a financial advisor in supply chain projects, helping to evaluate financial impacts and ensure successful implementation.

Risk Management:

Identify financial risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
Monitor supply chain disruptions or changes that may impact financial performance.
Document and review Standard Operating Processes and ensure compliance to business best practice.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Professional certifications (CA or CIMA)

Experience:
At least 5-7 years of experience in distribution, logistics or supply chain finance roles.Proven experience with supply chain financial analysis, budgeting, and cost management.

Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel).
Knowledge of supply chain processes, cost structures and best practices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to report findings and recommendations to senior management.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
