Job description

Supply Chain & Costing Specialist - Pharma / Healthcare (POS)

Location: Midrand

Salary: R 1 million per annum

Job Purpose

Plan and coordinate all financial matters within the Supply Chain Department to meet company objectives related to profitability, cost maintenance, product costing (new and existing products), financial budgeting, reporting, and projects. Ensure accuracy and effectiveness of data to enable optimal functional performance and achieve desired benefits.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in demand planning, including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models.
  2. Set up and manage the annual/monthly Oracle costing system.
  3. Maintain Oracle costings for OTC Third Party suppliers.
  4. Participate in the annual COGS budgeting process.
  5. Handle ad hoc customer projects, including manual costings, tender submissions, reports, and analyses.
  6. Ensure costing and inventory valuation compliance with external and internal auditors.
  7. Prepare month-end reports, including exchange rate effects, sales vs. forecast analysis, and other financial metrics.
  8. Compile department budgets.
  9. Support management accountants with Oracle system updates and maintenance.
  10. Generate inventory reports, including early warning indicators, weekly dashboards, and stock analysis.
  11. Assist in monthly sales and operational planning (S&OP) presentations and forecast accuracy assessments.
  12. Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and out-of-stock situations.
  13. Calculate ERP levies and conduct waste analysis.
  14. Collaborate with procurement to improve raw material availability and reduce costs.
Requirements
  • Relevant Degree in Supply Chain and/or Cost Management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain and Cost Management
  • Industry experience in Pharmaceuticals, Medical, or Healthcare sectors (IMPORTANT)
  • Excellent understanding of Supply Chain processes
  • Financial proficiency with Oracle and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Experience with Oracle system setup and maintenance
