Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supply Chain Co-ordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee raw material inventory, procurement processes, and store operations to ensure a smooth and efficient supply chain.
The Role:
In this exciting role, you will:
Raw Material Management:
- Capture raw material GRNs, issues, and returns, and update the production schedule daily.
- Place orders for raw materials as per production requirements.
- Manage the issuing and returning of materials to and from Production.
- Liaise with Technical and Sales teams regarding material availability.
- Handle non-conforming materials and coordinate returns to suppliers.
- Oversee consignment stock management.
- Ensure monthly stock count and related reporting.
- Administer online purchasing systems.
- Analyse production schedules to determine material requirements.
- Ensure correct material specifications for jobs and update specification sheets when needed.
- Ensure correct material issuance and implement stock rotation.
Purchasing & Administration:
- Administer purchase order system.
- Verify order details against deliveries (quantities, prices, quality).
- Administer capture of received goods and document control.
- Manage purchase orders monthly and related reporting.
- Maintain purchasing records, analyse supplier data, and update records.
- Source new suppliers when needed and negotiate best purchase packages.
- Monitor supplier deliveries to manage OTIF.
- Ensure purchase orders and process requisitions according to company policies.
- Assist with supplier audits and facilitate procurement meetings.
General Responsibilities:
- Improve and maintain Safety, BRC, and FSC systems.
- Supervise and assist the Storeman in performing store duties.
- Attend internal and supplier meetings.
- Maintain store housekeeping standards.
- Ensure supplier information, records, and ratings are updated.
- Monitor and analyse material stock movements.
- Compile and submit various required reports.
- Capture raw material and consumable pricelist data.
- Maintain Savings Register.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel).
- Previous supply chain experience.
- Ability to learn business information systems.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, target- and goal-driven.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
