Industry: FMCG & Supply Management Cape Town Only

Remuneration: Market related

We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Co-Ordinator to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The role involves planning, organizing, and managing Supply Chain & Procurement activities in accordance with company guidelines and policies, with a focus on contributing to profitability, quality, and continuous improvement. The person will be responsible for the entire procurement function to support production requirements and the effective control of raw materials.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Full Procurement Function
  2. Demand Planning
  3. Distributor Management
  4. Ensure solid partnership and end-to-end collaboration with key stakeholders

Inbound Purchasing including:

  • Managing supplier relationships, negotiations on pricing and terms, and sourcing new suppliers
  • Optimizing raw material and component stock levels to support production and minimize obsolescence
  • Managing a perpetual inventory system with appropriate controls, stock counts, and variance reporting
  • Implementing MRP systems to optimize stock levels considering supplier lead times and safety stock levels

Planning including:

  • Preparing weekly and monthly master schedules for finished goods based on sales forecasts and current stock levels
  • Preparing weekly and monthly component-level production schedules based on the master schedule and component stock levels
  • Monitoring and reporting on production plan vs actual output
  • Interacting professionally with suppliers regarding orders, returns, and queries

People Management:

  • Manage raw material teams at all plants (CPT, MDB, QTN)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Qualification in Finance and/or Supply Chain
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • 3-5 years' experience in a Buying capacity
  • Strong knowledge of applicable commercial legislation
  • Strong administrative and numerical skills, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
