Placements24 is seeking a data-driven Supply Chain Analyst for its FMCG operations in Port Elizabeth. The role focuses on analyzing logistics, inventory, and distribution networks to cut costs and boost service levels.

You will model and forecast demand, optimize supply chain flows, and collaborate with procurement, operations and 3PL partners to implement improvements. A hybrid work arrangement is offered.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (SCM, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics).
• Minimum 4 years' experience in supply chain analysis or logistics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with Excel, SQL, Python or R.
• Experience with forecasting and supply chain optimization.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a talented and analytical Supply Chain Analyst to join their operations in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our client's supply chain operations through data analysis and process improvement. The analyst will focus on optimizing logistics, inventory management, and distribution networks to reduce costs and improve service levels. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in logistics, inventory, and warehousing.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation routes, reduce freight costs, and improve delivery times.
• Monitor inventory levels across the supply chain, implementing effective inventory management techniques to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
• Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques (e.g., statistical modeling, simulation) to forecast demand and optimize supply chain flow.
• Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, operations, sales) and external partners (3PL providers, carriers) to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
• Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations and track performance against targets.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations on supply chain performance, insights, and recommendations for management.
• Support the implementation of new supply chain technologies and systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in supply chain analysis, logistics, or operations, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and BI tools.
• Experience with supply chain modeling and optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Understanding of the South African logistics landscape is a plus.
