ABOUT HILLSIDE:
Our Hillside Aluminium smelter in Richards Bay produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As a Shut Superintendent Maintenance Carbon , you will be responsible for the safe execution of the maintenance shuts.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
• Provide inputs to and endorse maintenance plans, strategies and programs;
• Develops and implements methods and procedures to ensure optimal performance of resources;
• Reviews maintenance reports and statistics to plan and recommend changes to maintenance activities;
• Accountable for risk assessments as required for conformance with operational standards;
• Responsible for the accurate preparation of capital and operating budgets;
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within Maintenance in a manufacturing / Heavy industrial environment, of which at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity is essential;
• Working experience with SAP is essential;
• 1-2 years Experience required on effective planning, co ordinating and execution of maintenance shuts is essential;
• Ability to be structured and directive in leading large complex multi team Shutdowns in a highly pressured environment is essential;
• Must be technical and have a good understanding of systems and processes and comply with procedures is essential;
• Experience in an Aluminium Smelter is advantageous;
• Must have strong personal disciplines and a structured approach to problem solving is advantageous.
Qualifications for this role are:
• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
