Barron is seeking an Apparel/Large Format Sublimation Seamstress based in Modderfontein, South Africa. Responsibilities

  • Inspect finished products for quality defects, ensuring seams are straight, stitches are secure, and overall construction meets established standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work area, including sewing machines, tools, and supplies.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines when operating machinery to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on sewing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Job description

The Apparel/Large Format Sublimation Seamstress is responsible for constructing, altering, repairing, and customizing a wide range of clothing items or large-format fabric projects.

This role requires proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and understanding various fabrics and their properties. The seamstress works closely with print and cut machine operators, and supervisors to interpret job cards and to ensure the quality and accuracy of finished products.

Key Responsibilities:
Sewing Operations:
  • Operate industrial sewing machines and other equipment to sew garments or large-format fabric projects according to specifications.
  • Perform various sewing techniques such as stitching, hemming and attaching fasteners.

Alterations and Repairs:

  • Address any issues or discrepancies identified during quality checks, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
