Job description

Start Date: July / August

Purpose: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Advisor to join a leading private higher education institution at the Centurion campus.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong focus on sales and direct marketing, particularly targeting the high school market in South Africa.

As a key player in the growth of new student enrollments, the Student Advisor will drive the entire marketing and sales process, including school presentations, student interviews, and engaging with prospective students.

We are looking for a sales-driven individual to help us achieve our recruitment targets.

Your role will be to

guide students through the enrollment process, providing them with information on our offerings, including qualification details, entrance requirements, career guidance, and funding options.

This position offers a performance-based remuneration structure with a competitive commission to reward.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Performance & Target Achievement
    Develop and execute a sales plan aimed at meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets. Track, report, and manage sales performance to ensure growth and continual improvement.
  2. Direct Marketing and Relationship Building
    Build strong relationships with prospective students and their families through regular follow-ups. Conduct career guidance presentations and attend all key sales and marketing events. Collaborate with high schools and educational institutions to provide career guidance and increase visibility. Maintain relationships with guidance teachers, particularly in high-priority schools as identified by the Regional Sales Manager.
  3. Proactive Student Engagement
    Actively engage with prospective students through phone calls, emails, in-person meetings, and online chats. Drive the interview, application, and registration process to meet student intake goals. Present the institution's programmes, accreditations, and unique features to convert interest into enrollments.
  4. Product & Industry Knowledge
    Stay updated on the institution's offerings, including courses, accreditations, and competitive advantages. Continuously monitor education trends and market developments to effectively communicate the value of the institution.
  5. Reporting & Collaboration
    Regularly report on sales activities to management. Work closely with marketing, admissions, and academic departments to provide a seamless experience for prospective students.
  6. Travel Requirements
    Willingness to travel to provinces such as Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Free State, and North West for school visits, presentations, and recruitment events.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field (advantageous).
  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector.
  • Proven sales track record in consultative or education sales environments.
  • Own a car and a valid driver's license (mandatory).
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and customer engagement skills.
  • Target-oriented, self-motivated, able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and data management.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
  • Availability to work on the last Saturday of each month for registration days and Open Days.
