Job summary

A leading financial institution is seeking a Property Finance Specialist to grow business by acquiring new clients in the commercial property market. Responsibilities include managing client relationships, achieving financial targets, and enhancing business processes. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of structured lending experience and a strong sales disposition. This position is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Property Lending is essential.

Job Purpose

To grow business by acquiring new property finance clients predominantly in the commercial property market/sector to add value to Nedbank's private wealth client offering.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank culture-building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys).
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g., Green Strategy).
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and add value to Nedbank.
  • Grow and maintain our client base in the commercial property sector through networking with external stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with other business units like Legal and Client Services through effective communication.
  • Grow the lending book through business acquisition via internal and external channels such as internet and telephone.
  • Charge market-related fees on each lending transaction to contribute to business results.
  • Achieve Nedbank private wealth's required risk-adjusted returns on equity through appropriate interest margins and fees.
  • Manage workflow through preparation of transaction applications, credit, and legal processes.
  • Explore solutions to market challenges by proposing enhancements to internal stakeholders to improve client wealth.
  • Manage risk by following due process in processing client applications.
  • Support the achievement of business strategy, objectives, and values by aligning with Nedbank and Business Unit Plans.
  • Identify training and career progression opportunities through management feedback.
  • Ensure completion of personal development activities within set timeframes.
  • Share industry knowledge and trends with the team and stakeholders during interactions.
  • Obtain buy-in for developing new or improved processes that enhance stakeholder businesses by highlighting benefits.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • 5 years experience in structured lending within a financial institution.
