Salary : R600 000 – R800 000 CTC per annum (Market-Related & Negotiable)

Overview :

An established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineer with a strong background in the design and analysis of civil and industrial structures. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of consulting experience , be technically proficient, and capable of taking on a project leadership role , including liaising with clients and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of building and industrial projects , ensuring high design quality and compliance with both internal and statutory standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform detailed structural design and analysis for buildings and civil / industrial infrastructure.
  • Oversee the preparation of drawings and reports in accordance with project and client requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards and relevant design codes.
  • Coordinate with architects, quantity surveyors, and other built environment professionals.
  • Participate in site inspections, technical meetings, and project reviews.
  • Act as a project leader where appropriate, managing timelines and deliverables.
  • Use engineering software tools such as Prokon, Sumo, Revit, and AutoCAD to produce accurate and efficient designs.
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure that work is delivered on time and within scope.

Minimum Requirements :

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or BTech minimum).
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (advantageous).
  • Registered or near-registration with ECSA (Candidate Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng minimum; professional registration advantageous).

Experience :

  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Proven experience in structural design for buildings and / or industrial structures.
  • Previous exposure to managing or coordinating projects is beneficial.
