Job summary

Onboarded Solutions in Cape Town is seeking a professionally registered Structural Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. You will lead design and contract administration of building projects from inception to completion.

The role requires ECSA registration, a Civil Engineering degree with a structural emphasis, and at least two years post-registration experience, with strong client communication and independent ownership of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
• ECSA registration as PE or Professional Engineering Technologist.
• Minimum 2 years post-registration experience.
• Experience in planning, design and contract administration of projects.
• Strong understanding of design codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Own vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Planning, design and contract administration of engineering and building projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications and tender documents.
• Lead internal project teams of designers and draughting personnel.
• Manage and quality-check project deliverables; review work by juniors.
• Prepare project, technical and progress reports.
• Conduct structural condition assessments.
• Manage structural works and site contract administration.
• Lead site and technical meetings.
• Handle technical queries and assist with dispute resolution.
• Communicate with clients and other professionals; support safety and environmental requirements.

Education
