Job summary

RPO Recruitment's client in Secunda is seeking a Structural Draughtsperson to deliver precise construction drawings for industrial, plant and mining projects, working with engineers and site teams to translate designs into detailed documentation.

Requires a National Diploma or NQF4 in Draughting and 3–6 years' experience; AutoCAD essential, with Revit/Tekla exposure an advantage. On-site role in Secunda with negotiable salary.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent (NQF4) in Draughting or related field.
• 3–6 years of structural draughting experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD; exposure to Revit/Tekla is advantageous.
• Knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete detailing.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and conventions.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.

RPO Recruitment's client, a reputable engineering firm is seeking a Structural Draughtsperson to join its team in Secunda. The successful candidate will provide technical drafting support on a range of industrial, plant and mining-related structural projects, working closely with engineers and site teams to develop accurate and practical construction documentation.

This position would suit a detail-oriented draughtsperson who takes pride in producing high-quality drawings and enjoys working in a technical engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural drawings for engineering and construction purposes.
• Develop and update drawings based on engineering designs, calculations and site information.
• Prepare detailing for structural steel and concrete elements.
• Work closely with structural engineers to translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings.
• Incorporate design revisions and ensure drawing information remains current.
• Liaise with site personnel to clarify drawing-related requirements where necessary.
• Assist with the preparation of construction and fabrication documentation.
• Maintain drawing standards, accuracy and consistency across projects.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of structural projects within industrial and mining environments.

Requirements

• National Diploma or NQF Level 4 qualification in Draughting or a related field.
• 3-6 years' experience in structural draughting.
• Previous exposure to industrial, plant or mining projects will be advantageous.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit, Tekla Structures or other 3D modelling platforms will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of structural steel and reinforced concrete detailing.
• Familiarity with relevant drafting practices, standards and conventions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
