Job summary

Bigen Group in Pretoria seeks a Senior BIM Draughtsman with 8-10 years of project experience. You will lead BIM modelling and structural drafting in Revit and AutoCAD, and translate designs into precise drawings for construction.

You will detail reinforcement, coordinate with disciplines, manage drawing lifecycles, and ensure ISO 9001 compliance, working closely with engineers to deliver accurate, economical drawings.

Qualifications

• NDip in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification.
• 8-10 years experience in management and execution of projects.
• Good people and communication skills.
• Experience in building structures; civil structures advantageous.
• Revit and Autocad essential, with BIM modelling, structural drafting and rebar detailing.

Responsibilities

• BIM modelling and structural drafting in Revit and Autocad.
• Reinforcing detailing.
• Assist with conceptual design development and preliminary drawings for the engineer.
• Produce functional, economical and technically correct drawings with the engineer.
• Translate specifications and designs into engineering drawings for construction.
• Drawings must provide unambiguous scope for execution.
• Contribute to project profitability by applying technical skills and efficient work practices.
• Calculate quantities/measurements for schedules.
• Coordinate with all disciplines.
• Manage drawings received and the drawings issuing process.
• Review incoming drawings and advise changes required.
• Manage projects during execution with engineer as required.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality system and drawing standards.

Qualifications:

• NDip in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification;
• Minimum 8-10 years experience in the management and execution of projects;
• Good people and communication skills;
• Experience in all types of building structures; experience in civil structures will be an advantage;
• Revit and Autocad is essential, with experience in BIM modelling, structural drafting and rebar detailing.

Responsibilities:

• BIM Modelling and structural drafting in Revit and Autocad;
• Reinforcing detailing;
• Assist with conceptual design development and preliminary drawings for further refinement by the engineer;
• Produce functional, economical and technically correct drawings in conjunction with the engineer;
• Translate specifications and designs into engineering drawings, ready for construction;
• Drawings must provide unambiguous scope for execution;
• Contribute to the success and profitability of projects by applying technical skills and efficient work practices;
• Calculate quantities and measurements to enable the team to produce effective and accurate schedules;
• Coordination with all disciplines;
• Manage drawings received and the drawings issuing process;
• Review incoming drawings and advise the engineer and draughters on changes required;
• Manage projects during execution stage: shared inspections/meetings responsibility with the engineer as required;
• Manage compliance with the ISO 9001 quality system and drawing standards.

Remuneration package

Negotiable and based on the candidates' qualifications and years of relevant experience.
