Job summary

Santam is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join our Johannesburg-based team on a permanent basis. The Risk Manager will support the Head of ERM to monitor Santam Specialist Solutions’ risk profile, enabling identification of emerging risks through frameworks, policies, and tools.

Responsibilities include embedding risk management processes, coordinating risk reporting for the Risk Committee, and analyzing data to drive proactive risk management and escalation across the Santam group.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Business and/or Risk Management.
• 5 years Risk Management experience.
• Audit experience will be an advantage.
• Underwriting experience in short term insurance will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist Santam Specialist Solutions in embedding a risk management process to identify, mitigate, monitor, report and elevate key risks within the Board's risk appetite.
• Coordinate and aggregate key risks for Risk Committee reporting to provide a summary and overview of Santam Specialist Solutions’ risks.
• Analyse risk, control and business data to identify areas for continuous monitoring and early warning indicators; support proactive risk management and escalation.
