Job summary

AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join a concentrator plant project in the Northern Cape. The role focuses on cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for plant operations and projects within the mining sector.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, with at least 5 years of relevant mining experience, strong contract knowledge, and proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in quantity surveying within the mining or mineral processing industry.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cost estimation and budgeting for various plant projects.
• Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to budgets.
• Evaluate and assess contractor claims and variations.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract negotiations.
• Provide regular cost reports and forecasts to management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
