Job description

STRATEGIC PURCHASER : PCB ASSEMBLIES (6 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

This role manages supplier relationships, leads contract and SLA negotiations, supports technical alignment with engineering, and ensures continuity of supply in a highly regulated aerospace environment.

The position is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for PCB assemblies to ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality-compliant procurement. It also involves ensuring that the Strategic and Operational Purchasing Functions conform to relevant processes within the Business Process in the Global Management System (GMS), supporting and complementing the Supply Chain function within the SGD Organisation, and participating in strategic and operational improvement initiatives. Availability on short notice is preferred due to immediate need.

Your role

1. Assess and evaluate purchasing requirements to determine scheduling, purchasing volumes, delivery scheduling, and preferred suppliers.
2. Evaluate proposals and select the best sourcing channels based on quality, specifications, and lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
3. Place purchase orders, secure confirmations, and monitor delivery statuses.
4. Oversee shipping and receiving of materials.
5. Manage and resolve queries related to suppliers, finances, warehousing, production, and customers.
6. Manage discrepancies in goods, quantities, and documentation.
7. Provide timely and accurate information and reports to stakeholders.
8. Set and agree on performance goals, striving to meet or exceed them.
9. Ensure adherence to procurement processes within GMS/BMS.
10. Participate as a procurement representative in product development and other projects to ensure procurement considerations are integrated.
11. Act as the prime commercial contact with suppliers within the assigned product area or project.

Your profile

Specialist Knowledge Required: Procurement experience in electronics manufacturing, knowledge of procurement strategies, risk management, compliance, and supplier landscape.

Practical Experience Required: RFP/RFQ management, negotiation, contract implementation, ERP systems, 10+ years in procurement, various buying processes.

Competencies: Strategy development, make-or-buy analysis, TCO, supplier evaluation and management.

Qualification: Degree in procurement or related field; CIPSP certification or studying towards it preferred.
