Placement24 is seeking an experienced Public Affairs Officer to lead engagement with government bodies, community stakeholders, and the public from their Rustenburg office. The role focuses on monitoring policy developments, advising senior management, and shaping communications to audiences critical to the company’s objectives.

The position requires a Master’s degree and at least five years in public affairs or corporate communications, with strong negotiation, written and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field as described in the requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public affairs, government relations, or corporate communications.
• Strong understanding of government processes and policy‑making at local and national levels.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization's public and governmental affairs.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments affecting the company's operations.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, community leaders, and industry associations.
• Prepare briefing materials, position papers, and reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Represent the organization at relevant public forums, meetings, and conferences.
• Manage stakeholder engagement initiatives and community outreach programs.

Education

Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Communications, or related field

5+ years of progressive experience in public affairs, government relations, or corporate communications
