Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Public Affairs Manager to lead government relations and stakeholder engagement in Polokwane. This senior role builds relationships with government officials, community leaders, and key stakeholders to advocate for the company’s interests and enhance its public image.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or corporate communications.
• Proven ability to effectively engage with government stakeholders and influence policy.
• Strong understanding of the political and regulatory landscape in South Africa.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement public affairs strategies to support business objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials and policymakers in Polokwane and Limpopo.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the company.
• Represent the company in industry associations and public forums.
• Develop position papers, policy briefs, and advocacy materials.
• Manage crisis communications related to public policy and regulatory issues.
