Job summary

HR Management & Support Services (Pty) Ltd t/a The HR Department in Gouda, Western Cape, seeks a Procurement Specialist to optimise sourcing, negotiate with vendors and ensure timely, cost-effective supply aligned with production needs.

You will manage supplier relationships, obtain quotes, prepare purchase orders, and analyse spending trends to identify savings opportunities. The role requires strong planning, communication skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Matric (Essential).
• Diploma in Supply Chain Management (Advantages).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role.
• Knowledge of reading and understanding the raw material market.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining relationships with vendors, including negotiating contracts and reviewing contracts for legal compliance.
• Getting quotes for non-stock and stock items not on MRP.
• Creating purchase orders and ensuring alignment with company policies.
• Recommending new suppliers and negotiating supplier contracts.
• Preparing reports on expenditures and analyzing trends in spending to identify waste or abuse.
• Negotiating contract terms with vendors, including price, delivery schedule, and payment terms.
• Following up with vendors to ensure timely deliveries within budget.
• Coordinating with internal departments to ensure orders are processed correctly.
