Job summary

AECI Head Office in Sandton is seeking an experienced Purchasing Lead to coordinate operational procurement and indirect spend for the region. You will manage end-to-end purchasing, ensure policy compliance, and drive cost savings through supplier consolidation and contract utilization.

You will lead a team of buyers, monitor supplier performance, and partner with Strategic Sourcing to align demand with budgets, while implementing DoA controls and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• 5–7+ years in procurement, purchasing, or category management.
• Experience leading a purchasing/buying team.
• ERP/eProcurement experience (SAP, Coupa).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end purchasing processes from requisition to PO.
• Ensure procurement policy, DoA and contract compliance.
• Coordinate expediting, delivery follow-up, and invoice resolution.
• Monitor supplier performance, spend trends and compliance.
• Partner with Strategic Sourcing and Category Management to consolidate demand.
