Placements24 seeks a proactive Public Relations Officer to join its communications team in Polokwane. You will draft press releases, coordinate media events, and monitor coverage to ensure a positive brand image in a hybrid setup.

Build strong relationships with local media, support crisis communications, and contribute to strategic PR initiatives to raise the company profile in the Polokwane area. A Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
• 2–4 years in PR or similar communications role.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to craft clear messages.
• Familiarity with media relations, press release writing, and event coordination.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and media monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate press releases and other public-facing communications.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local media contacts and journalists.
• Organize and manage press conferences, media briefings, and promotional events.
• Monitor media coverage and respond to inquiries from the press.
• Assist in the development of communication strategies and crisis management plans.
• Ensure brand consistency across all external communications.
