Job summary

Industrial Development Corporation seeks a senior strategist to lead the development, review and approval of the corporate plan and scorecard, coordinating internal stakeholders across the organisation.

The role requires extensive experience in business strategy development, understanding of legislation governing corporate planning, and capability to engage with government and industry stakeholders on strategic priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
Honours Degree, Masters/MBA or MBL will be an added advantage.
Minimum 8 - 10 years’ experience in development and implementation of business strategy.
Understanding of legislation governing Corporate planning.
Knowledge of the Development Finance sector.
Understanding of Economics/Socio-Economics/Development Economics.
Understanding of Financial planning, analysis and strategic financial policy development.
Understanding of performance management principles.
Broad knowledge of Government policy priorities.
Understanding of change management and business process re-engineering.
Good understanding of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project.

Responsibilities

Develop, review and approve the IDC’s five-year corporate plan and corporate scorecard, coordinating internal stakeholders.
Compile and deliver strategy and Corporate Plan presentations for various platforms and stakeholders.
Coordinate strategic sessions to inform IDC strategic plans and objectives.
Lead annual Business Planning process and align SBUs and Enablement departments with the IDC strategy.
Develop Corporate KPIs and Targets and cascade them across divisions, SBUs and departments.
Develop and review IDC’s long-term strategy and performance measurement system.
Provide strategic, tactical, policy information to IDC planning processes.
Monitor changes in the operating environment and advise IDC accordingly.
Participate in national legislation and policy development relevant to IDC position.
Assist in onboarding new employees with strategy overview and objectives.
Mentor junior team members and communicate corporate performance widely.
Coordinate communication of corporate performance throughout the organisation.
