Placements24 is seeking a strategic Head of Procurement and Supply Chain for its Bloemfontein operations. You will own end-to-end procurement, vendor management, and cost optimization across the retail supply chain.

The role requires 8+ years in procurement and logistics with at least 3 years in leadership, strong negotiation, and ERP proficiency. The position offers a hybrid on-site/remote setup and substantial impact on profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in developing and executing effective procurement strategies and supply chain solutions.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with inventory management, demand planning, and logistics operations.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of retail operations and market dynamics.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive procurement and supply chain strategies to align with business objectives.
• Oversee all aspects of procurement, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management.
• Manage and optimize inventory levels, warehousing, and distribution operations.
• Lead and mentor the procurement and supply chain team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
• Monitor supply chain performance using key metrics and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
